Bishop Eddie Long loses weight*Bishop Eddie Long is showing off his slimmer self after shedding a significant amount of weight which he attributes to his new raw diet. Long is urging others to drop the “slave menu” if you want to live a long, healthy life.

In a Facebook video, the megachurch pastor credits his dramatic weight loss to his new raw/vegan diet, and he explains how he’s in much better shape now. He said he told his congregation that he was on a mission to live past 100-years-old. And he plans on doing so by leaving the old “slave menu” behind.

“I wasn’t going to get [to 100-years-old] by stopping by Popeye’s. That was my weakness,” he said. “The biscuits with honey and chicken wangs, spicy.”

Bishop Long credits his raw vegan diet for helping lower his blood pressure, and he no longer has to take medication to keep his blood pressure under control.

He continued,

“I’m on the medicine that God gave you to feed your immune system to build you up. You know what, if you really want to move through this world and have influence you gotta be spiritual and you have to walk by His commandments and you have to be healthy.”

Eddie also informed viewers that he’s doing a (free) webinar on how to eat healthy and to live long. He ended the clip saying, “The muscles are coming back baby!”

Long’s ministry — New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia — was sued in 2010 by Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande, Jamal Parris and Maurice Robinson, who alleged the bishop used his influence, trips, gifts and jobs to coerce them into sexual relations. In 2011, the case was settled, then dismissed.
