Watch as woman tells her story of Chris Brown pulling gun on her:

*Well, it looks like Chris Brown‘s bizarre standoff with LAPD and it didn’t end well for the singer. Brown was taken into custody late Tuesday afternoon by police who said the singer would be arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

Lt. Chris Ramirez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department, said officers were transporting Brown from his Tarzana home to downtown L.A., where he would be formally booked.

Authorities began searching Brown’s property as they hunted for a weapon is said to have used to threaten a woman.

Shortly before 1 p.m., officers entered the residence after taking much of the morning to obtain a search warrant. Brown’s attorney, Mark Geragos, was on the scene as LAPD Robbery-Homicide Division detectives searched the property.

Here’s what the LA Times is reporting:

At least half a dozen people exited the home, a few of them holding their hands behind their heads as police patted them down.

“We’re getting the cooperation of everyone that came out,” Ramirez said, after informing reporters that officers had served a search warrant.

Once all of the occupants are removed from the residence, they will be interviewed to determine what occurred, Ramirez said.

Geragos told The Times that he was inside the home with Brown, who denies any wrongdoing. The warrant was served shortly after Geragos arrived.

Deputy Chief Bob Green had described the standoff between Brown and officers as “long and protracted.”

As we reported earlier, the search was sparked by a call for help from a woman who said she had been threatened by Brown, police sources said, with officers first arriving at his home in the in the San Fernando valley about 3am Tuesday.

The woman, Baylee Curran, told the LA Times that Brown pointed a gun at her during a violent rage before she ran outside to call police.

Curran said she and a friend had gone to Brown’s home with a business associate, who was invited by the musician. She wanted to talk to him about future projects, she said.
