*As the season finale of Fox’s hit show “STAR” approaches, the cast hit the Honda Stage at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank on Tuesday, March 14 for a special performance and Q&A with fans.
The ladies of the show’s girl group “Big Trouble”: Ryan Destiny, Jude Demorest and Brittany O’Grady performed hit songs from the show including “I Bring Me.”
EURweb associate Kiki Ayers was on the scene to speak with Destiny, O’Grady, Demorest and Quincy (Brown) who plays Derek in the drama.
“STAR,” which was created by Lee Daniel’s and Tommy Donaghy, is a drama that shines light on many issues from #BlackLivesMatter, sexual abuse, transgendered acceptance, sex trafficking and foster care. Quincy loves the messages it delivers to television.
“It is important, special and impactful to what’s going on today,” Quincy told Kiki. “The world needs to be reminded anyway they can because if you’re not paying attention to the news but you’re watching TV you’re getting the message.
Destiny’s explained that working on the show has been an honor for her because of that very reason.
“I’m so glad we get to touch on other stories that really connect with other people and are important stories to tell,” she said. “Knowing that people aren’t alone in certain situations is super cool to me and definitely a dream project to be on.”
The series was picked up for a second season where we’ll expect a lot more drama. The ladies explained that they received the news while they were in flight to LA via Twitter, but O’Grady also learned the news through her dad.
“When I got off the plane I got a bunch of texts like oh my gosh check your phone and my dad sent me a text that said, ‘you still have a job’ and I was like thanks dad.”
We asked what we could expect from finale which airs tonight at 9:01/8:01c on FOX. Though they couldn’t give us too many details, they did assure us that everything we’ve been wanting to know all season would be revealed tonight.
