*Detroit, Ml (BlackNews.com) — Detroit attorney Leonard Mungo has been named General Counsel for the National Black State Troopers Coalition (NBSTC). The Wisconsin-based organization represents black State Troopers in 24 states.
The group elected Attorney Mungo at its 32nd Annual Summer Training Conference and Membership Meeting, held in Houston, Texas on August 2, 2017 . The Board of Directors and its membership unanimously voted to retain Mungo as its attorney of record.
Mungo is one of the area’s top employee rights attorneys. He successfully litigated awards in excess of seven million dollars on behalf of three Michigan State Troopers in 2016.
Attorney Mungo is an Employee Rights Attorney, a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, and Juris Doctorate degree from the Detroit College of Law. Attorney Mungo formerly served as General Counsel to the Michigan State Conference of NAACP Branches; and as a member of Advocates and Leaders for Police and Community Trust (organized by the U.S. Attorney’s Office Eastern District of Michigan and the National Conference for Community and Justice).
Attorney Mungo is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association; Michigan Association For Justice; the American Bar Association and the Michigan Bar Association. He currently serves as a Plaintiff’s Case Evaluator, Employment Panel, for the Mediation Tribunal Association which evaluates cases in Wayne County, Michigan for the Third Judicial Circuit Court.
