*Solange deleted her Twitter account on Tuesday after posting a message supporting Takiyah Thompson, the 22-year-old Carolina Central University student arrested for helping to take down a Confederate monument in Durham, North Carolina.
Thompson was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors over the incident. A legal defense fund has been established to aid those arrested.
“What we got to do to get my new hero Takiyah Thompson free,” wrote Solange in her final tweet.

Shortly after deactivating the account, Solange took to Instagram addressing the practice of self-preservation, her concern about her 12-year-old son’s education, and expressing her frustration with the events in Charlottesville.
“F**k white supremacist. F**k nazis. F**k your stale ass bland ass monuments. F**k asking folks to be graceful.”
